Hungary, Slovakia and Poland - The Fist in the Face of the Globalists!

The ruling follows an EU decision made in 2015 to rehouse some 160,000 refugees from Greece and Italy over a period of two years, only around 27,700 of whom have been settled so far. Hungary and Poland have refused to take part, while Slovakia has only taken in a small number from Greece. The low level of relocations, the ECJ noted, was partly due to "the lack of cooperation on the part of certain member states."

“It is time to be united and show full solidarity. The door remains, it is still open, and we should convince all member states to fulfill their commitments,” EU Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said.

“But we should be clear that member states have to show solidarity now because it is now that some member states need help.

If the member states do not change their approach in the coming weeks, we should then consider [taking] the last step in the infringement procedure: to refer Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic to the European Court of Justice.”

Commenting on the ruling, Germany Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said it was a positive step that fully adhered to European values and law. The decision is also likely to be welcomed by other countries such as Greece and Sweden, where the sheer volume of new arrivals threatens to overwhelm the system.

Human rights groups have criticized Hungary and Poland for their reluctance to take in any refugees. The government of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has taken the stance that Hungary has the right to refuse entry to the primarily Muslim asylum seekers and refugees, claiming they threaten the country’s cultural identity. In September 2015, a razor-wire fence was constructed along the border with Serbia and Croatia, blocking migrants trying to reach the EU via the Balkans.

"The lesson of the verdict is that helping people fleeing war and terror is truly a common responsibility for Europe," the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, which provides free legal assistance to asylum seekers, said in a statement quoted by AP. "Hungary needs to respect the decision of the EU court."

Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo also rejected the ECJ’s ruling, saying that Poland will hold firm to its position on asylum seekers and refugees.

“I was convinced that such a decision would be made [by the court], but this absolutely does not change the stance of the Polish government with respect to migration policy,” Szydlo told reporters at a business conference.

Poland initially accepted a quota of several thousand refugees, but quickly changed its mind after the 2016 terrorist attacks in Brussels, citing security concerns.

But Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said he accepted the court’s decision.

"We fully respect the verdict of the European Court of Justice," Fico told reporters, but added that his government still views the system of quotas imposed by Brussels negatively.

"We will continue to work on having solidarity expressed in different ways other than forcing migrants [on Slovakia] from other countries that don't want to be here anyway."

Over the past few years Europe has been faced with millions of refugees and asylum seekers escaping war zones and hardship from across Africa and the Middle East. While the flow of Syrian refugees has slowed somewhat since a deal was signed with Turkey, the question remains of what to do with the ones that have already arrived.

How Viktor Orban rides the populist wave against Muslim “invaders.”

Orban’s anti-migrant campaign is resonating beyond central Europe into Italy and even Germany. Earlier this month, he was welcomed at a conference of Bavaria’s Christian Socialists, whose leader Horst Seehofer is critical of chancellor Angela Merkel’s immigration policies.

In 2015, close to one million mostly Muslim refugees arrived in Germany. About 150,000 of those refugees transited Hungary. Virtually none of them wanted to stay in Hungary.

Poland and Hungary vs. EU Commission

Hungary and Poland are being targeted by the European Union Commission for refusing a quota of 10,000 refugees under a burden sharing measure agreed to three years ago. The case is before the European Court of Justice.

Since the 2015 migration crisis, Poland has accepted no refugees while Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria have each taken fewer than twenty. Newly elected Czech prime minister Andrej Babis says simply, “we don’t want any refugees.”

The Fidesz Party that Orban founded holds a two-thirds majority in parliament and is favored to win new elections set for April 8th. Orban has ruled Hungary with an increasingly authoritarian hand since 2010.

He has restricted judicial and media freedom, rewritten Hungary’s constitution and centralized power. His assertive nationalism and challenge to European Union mandates has boosted his popularity.

Hungary’s leader also claims that Christian Hungary has never had much immigration and wishes to preserve its ethnic identity.

Flirting with Russia

While raging against Brussels, he has flirted with Russia and, despite his country being a member of NATO, says Moscow poses no threat to Europe.

Orban’s relaxed stance towards Russia would seem to put him at odds with Poland’s similarly authoritarian but strongly anti-Russian government.

But earlier this month, Poland’s new prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki from the ruling conservative Law and Justice Party chose Budapest for his first foreign visit. The bilateral meetings were harmonious and both leaders pledged to cooperate to expand central European influence inside the EU.

Orban calls 2018 the year of restoring the will of the people, specifically on migration. Europeans, he says, “don’t want to live under terrorist threats. They want security and their borders protected.” The EU, he says, doesn’t control its border and its migration policy has failed.

But this strong rhetoric in no way suggests that Hungarians wish to leave the union. They want to stay in the EU because of the benefits they receive, most notably aid and labor mobility.

Hungarians on a per capita basis are the largest beneficiaries of EU structural and convergence funds, money that has built bridges, roads and train stations. While Poland is the largest recipient of EU largesse in absolute terms, Hungary is not far behind.

Hungary’s Viktor Orbán is seeking his third consecutive term in office as his country goes to the polls today. But instead of just the traditional electoral battles between candidates, Orbán must face an even greater threat: George Soros and the Globalist establishment.

As an outspoken critic of not just Soros but the whole agenda he supports, Orbán is enemy number one in the eyes of those who seek to destroy nation state democracy.

He numbers among his enemies the European Union (EU), United Nations (UN) and open borders financier George Soros. In many cases, such a list of enemies would be dismissed as the delusions of a paranoid fantasist, but the reality is that these groups DO actually oppose him.

Orbán declares an end to the globalist-liberal era in State of the Nation address

The Western world is standing up in unison to throw off the yoke of political correctness, the tyranny of liberalism, and the elitist march of globalism, ushering in a new era where the voices of the unheard will rise to prominence. Events such as Brexit, the election of American President Donald Trump, and referendums in Italy and Hungary all signal that dissatisfaction among the ignored and marginalized in society has turned into rebellion; those elite political rulers who claim lapses in democracy whenever their globalist agenda faces resistance will soon find themselves removed from power by those who insist on choosing their own destinies.

This is how Prime Minister Viktor Orbán appraised the state of the Western world during his State of the Nation address in Budapest on Friday. Orbán used the occasion, held at the Castle Hill Bazaar, to assess not only how Hungary performed in 2016, but also to give his views on what the year’s events around the world might mean for the future. According to him, Hungary is at the forefront of an international rebellion and is leading the charge toward a more pragmatic politics that favors nations over non-democratic institutions such as the European Union. Indeed, Hungary is already beyond its rebellion which Hungarians initiated when they voted for the second Fidesz government in 2010, making them the first in Europe to reject the liberal order, he said.

“They taught us that if we don’t want to be hopeless losers, then we should get used to the tastes of liberalism,” Orbán said bitterly of unnamed oppressors, but that “we announced and built our own economic and political system,” and in 2016 “the middle class rebelled against its leaders”, proving that the globalist-liberal world order is not immutable, and Hungary’s rebellion has been successful.

Soros organizations trying to bring down Hungarian government

Another major threat to Hungary is the increased activity of foreign organizations in influencing the country’s politics, Orbán asserted.

“We have to face the intensifying activities of international organizations,” Orbán said, referring to “large predators like George Soros and his organizations” attempting to “influence Hungarian politics, in secret and with foreign money.”

“I believe we have proved enough times that we are able to decide on our own fate,” he continued. “The question is, do we allow these opaque, international attempts at influence? This is about international organizations with paid activists,” he said, including George Soros who, despite Hungary’s “decision” in the invalid EU quota referendum, is working to brings hundreds of thousands of migrants into Europe. “They are working to bring down the Hungarian National Assembly and the Hungarian government,” Orbán alleged. “Do we want fresh water in the glass in 2017?” he asked, and made a reference to upcoming elections in 2018, alluding to the possibility of Soros organizations attempting to influence Hungary’s democratic process.

Orbán’s statements reflect ominous declarations already made by senior Fidesz members last year that suggested 2017 would be the year in which Soros-funded organizations will be investigated by Hungarian secret services and “swept out” of the country.

Slovakia, still the ‘black hole’ of Europe

BRATISLAVA — Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright once described Slovakia as the “black hole of Europe.” It was 1997: The son of then president Michal Kováč had been abducted and a key witness in the case, police officer Róbert Remiáš, had been murdered. Although the case was never solved, all evidence pointed to the involvement of the Slovak secret service.

The late nineties was arguably the darkest period of early Slovak statehood. Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar promoted a policy of silence and intimidated the media and his political opposition. Thankfully, a courageous opposition, a robust media and strong civil society derailed his plan: In fall 1998, Slovak citizens voted to move their country in a democratic and a clearly pro-western direction. In 2004, Slovakia joined the EU and NATO, and later became a member of the eurozone. No longer a “black hole,” Slovakia became a modern, reform-oriented and reliable partner of the West.

This image of Slovakia was shattered on February 26, the day Kuciak and Kušnírová were killed. After 20 years of modernization, economic convergence with Western Europe and growing social cohesion, Slovakia has returned to darkness once more.

...

The links between Prime Minister Robert Fico’s SMER party and the country’s oligarchs have been common knowledge since the party’s inception. As media scrutiny increased, Fico’s arrogance and aggression toward journalists has also spiked. His disdain for an independent press was most obvious when he described Slovak journalists as “dirty Slovak prostitutes, idiots and snakes.” Inaction by the police, prosecutors and the justice system in the face of corruption scandals and the reports of investigative journalists have caused many in the country to conclude that the Slovak judiciary has lost its independence.

In this unclear and turbulent situation, the resignation of Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák and Fico’s resignation won’t satisfy the public’s demand for answers. Slovak society wants the government to bear political responsibility for the state of the country. Cosmetic changes won’t satisfy the public demand for justice and will only fuel further resistance from the public.

SMER’s smallest coalition partner, Most-Híd, initially adopted a resolution in which it demanded an early election, promising to leave the government if it is not delivered. But it later caved to pressure coming from both of its coalition partners when they agreed on a government reshuffle. Most-Híd’s unexpected U-turn is being perceived as a betrayal of the public, because a new prime minister will only be a proxy of Fico.

Hungary Moves to Eliminate All NGO’s Funded by Globalist George Soros

Budapest, Hungary – In a move indicative of a major push back against the dominant western-led neoliberal global order, Hungary has announced plans to purge all groups funded by globalist mega-donor George Soros.

The European Union member will use “all the tools at its disposal” to target and “sweep out” all non-governmental organizations funded by Soros, a Hungarian-born financier who has become one of the U.S. Democratic Party’s major sources of funding, according to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s ruling party.

Soros’s web of organizations “serve global capitalists and back political correctness over national governments,” Szilard Nemeth, a vice president of the ruling Fidesz party, told reporters Tuesday, referring to the Soros’s primary operator, the Open Source Institute.

Anyone familiar with the history of the Soros Open Society Foundations in Eastern Europe, and around the world, since the late 1980’s, will know that his supposedly philanthropic “democracy-building” projects in Poland, Russia, or Ukraine in the 1990’s allowed Soros the businessman to literally plunder the former communist countries’ wealth, according to the New Eastern Outlook.

During the 2016 presidential cycle, Soros committed $25 million dollars to the unsuccessful 2016 campaign of Hillary Clinton. Per standard Clinton operating procedure, this was indicative of the symbiotic relationship of favors between the billionaire and his array of political puppets across the globe.

The use of NGO’s to attempt to undermine states not beholden to the current Western neoliberal order has been an ongoing point of contention, which saw Russia kick USAID out of the country in 2012 amid accusations of attempting to incite protests and influence the Russian presidential elections.

And while Soros is no a James Bond villain, the billionaire financier’s efforts to control the direction of global politics, though the use of his vast fortune, cannot be disregarded, or understated, as it has a major effect on the manifestation and direction of global politics. When one person leverages such massive amounts of wealth into influencing global political discourse, it’s the average person’s voice that is drowned out by the sea of cash.
