Ukraine and Wagner Group: The Proxy of Russia and NATO

Wagner Group has a rotative personal contract and the moral values of the old staff and ultra nationalist / Anti-Globalist Ukrainians search for the pro-Russian corporations to promote a propaganda anti-government and andi-NATO, promoting a self sustainable Ukraine, autonomous.

Like some battalions with Ukrainians Ultra Nationalists, Pagan Battalions that promotes propaganda anti-Globalism and NATO - as Svarog, for exemple - the search for Russian corporations to contract Ukrainians to promote infiltration, assymetric warfare and social unrest becomes more and more constant, as the case of Wagner, that uses the local people, as sone in Syria, Libya, Central African Republic and Ukraine, hiring local people to promote Russian politics indirectly.

Ukraine is a divided country with different paradigms in society, but every of these parts have the common ultra-nationalism and the pride for their country, and this amoral aphorism - beyond good and evil - is what makes Ukraine a very prohiminent coutry to get into proxy conflicts, with direct and indirect physical combat, with the divergences between these groups.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) claimed that the Russian Federation has deployed the recruitment centers and small unit of the private military company “Wagner” in Luhansk region. Ihor Huskov, the Chief of the SBU staff claimed this as Ukrainian News reported.

“We spotted them (“Wagner” fighters”) only at the territory of Luhansk region and they were present in Donetsk region only during the fights for Debaltseve,” he noted.

Also, the members of the group provided the security of ex-head of the self-proclaimed “Luhansk People’s Republic” Ihor Plotnytsky.

“As for today, there are the recruitment centers in Donbas, while mostly citizens of Luhansk region come there. Also, we have the information on the place of the current deployment of the small unit from the membership of “Wagner” private military company but it does not surpass a few dozens of people,” Huskov said.

According to him, this unit deals with the murder of people in occupied territories who are undesirable by Russia.

Earlier SBU claimed about the presence of the evidence on the involvement of the Russian mercenaries from Wagner Group in the murder of three Russian journalists Orkhan Dzhemal, Aleksandr Rastorguev, and Kirill Radchenko in the Central African Republic (CAR).

The Wagner Group has been involved in Donbas conflict since May 2014 till August 2015. Then, they moved to Syria, assisting the Syrian army in a number of combat operations.

Ukraine Names Pro-Russian ‘Wagner Mercenaries’ from Moldova
The Ukrainian Security Service named over 200 people, including three Moldovans, who it alleged were mercenaries who have served with private military company Wagner in Syria and eastern Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Security Service, SBU on Monday published a list of 206 individuals who it claimed have been fighting for private military company Wagner in Syria and eastern Ukraine, among them three Moldovan citizens.

The new name revealed among the Moldovan fighters on the list was 47-year-old Serghey Prida from Soroca in north-east Moldova.

Prida was listed alongside two Moldovans who have been named previously - Veaceslav Apostol, who has already been killed in Syria, and Radu Donciu, an active fighter with the Wagner unit. The men’s names could not be independently verified.

"Wagner's mercenaries are instruments of Russia's hybrid aggression against the rest of the world," the SBU said.

Moldova's Security and Intelligence Service, SIS, told BIRN in April 2018 that it has identified 62 people from the country as taking part in mercenary activities in Ukraine.

Recruitments of mercenaries began after Russia's annexation of Crimea in March 2014 and amid the conflict in eastern Ukraine between Ukrainian and pro-Russian separatist forces.

"Evidence about these persons was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of Moldova. It is worth mentioning that 17 mercenaries have been convicted by the courts of Moldova," the SIS said in April 2018.

Wagner, an Argentine-registered private military company, employs mercenaries who are believed to have played an important role in battles fought by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine and, from 2016, also in Syria.

Russian officials have long admitted the presence of volunteer fighters in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine, and in Syria, where Moscow supports the Damascus government but denies any links to the private company Wagner.

An investigation by RISE Moldova has also shown how Moldovan citizens have opted to fight both for the separatists in Donbass but also for Ukrainian battalions, some for money and others for ideological reasons.

Russia has recruited fighters from all over Moldova, but many come from the breakaway region of Transnistria and some from the Gagauzia autonomous region inside Moldova, according to RISE Moldova.

Ukraine also expressed irritation in 2017 about Belgrade’s failure to stop Serbians from fighting for pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin called on Serbia in November 2017 to respect his country's sovereignty and territorial integrity by taking action to stop its citizens joining separatist forces.

In December 2017, Ukraine’s security service issued arrest warrants for six alleged Serbian mercenaries. The Kiev authorities maintain that almost 300 Serbs are still fighting in separatist-controlled areas.

The Wagner company has also a so-called Serbian platoon allegedly led by a Bosnian Serb, Davor Dragolobovic Savicic, 42, nicknamed 'The Wolf' by his men for his courage and strength.

SBU: Ukrainian Citizens Account For 10% Of Mercenaries Of Wagner PMC
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) says Ukrainian citizens, including from non-controlled territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions and the Crimea annexed by Russia, account for no more than 10% of mercenaries of the Wagner PMC (Private Military Company).

Ihor Huskov, the head of the staff of the SBU, said this in an interview with Ukrainian News Agency.

"According to information available to us, more than 5,000 people have come through the ranks of terrorists of 'Wagner'. The share of Ukrainian citizens, including residents of the Crimea who have taken Russian passports, does not exceed 10%," he said.

He says the Wagner PMC does not have permanent staff and mercenaries are hired for three months or more.

He says the Wagner PMC has a lot of Ukrainian citizens who are veterans of the Donbas war and have been involved in the combat operations in Syria 3-4 times.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the SBU says it has received from the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) secret information about mercenaries of the Wagner PMC.
