Venezuelan Proxy and USA x Russia Hybrid War

According to Guaidó, there is no turning back at the civil upheaval against the Maduro government.

After the request of Guaidó to the armed forces for giving support to the opposition, Maduro accused them of a coup d'etat, and promoted persecution to the opposition, that claimed for an insurrection against the government.

On May 2nd, calm appeared to have returned to Venezuela, with large protests expected throughout the country on May 3rd. There was one day on truce, May 2nd, but Guaidó called the protestants to next insurrections to the next days, with national claim against the socialist government of Maduro.

April 30th was marked wiith a infamous day to Venezuelan people, with Guaidó declaring the support to civilian protests against Maduro's regime and a new wave of conflicts started. Also, the strategy of the government is to cut the electric energy in whole country, to hamper the communication between the protesters and the international organisms and media, and maintain the situation under control, promoting military operations against the population.

Some people died in the conflicts with the assault against the rioters by the police. Police used armored vehicles against the protesters causing injuries and promoting more agressive disturbance.

Maduro declared that there will be no impunity against the rioters and Guaidó.

Trump is monitoring the Venezuelan situation with interest on the position of Guaidó and the supporters of the opposition to Maduro.

He admited that can open market to Cuba if the Island renounce the support to Maduro, in other ways, there he will strenghten the block. This same week, he affirmed in twitter that "If Cuban Troops and Militia do not immediately CEASE military and other operations for the purpose of causing death and destruction to the Constitution of Venezuela, a full and complete…." — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 30, 2019.

White House accuses that there are infiltrated militias operating in Venezuela, that Cuban government denies and accuses Washing of lie.

The same week, May 1st, Mike Pompeo said that it's possible a military action in Venezuela to promote the transition of government.

In answer to Pompeo, Sergey Lavrov said at the same day that he adverted Pompeo that will agravate the consequences in case of USA give agressive steps in Venezuelan direction.

The Russian presence in Venezuelan soil is deeply mustrust by USA government after they have strenghten their laces, financing the military support with aircrafts and soldiers to Venezuela and also, operate with mercenary companies in the land.

According to Lavrov, only the Venezuelan people have the right to determinate the destiny of the country, that's why it's necessary a dialogue between all political forces in country. He also said the external interference is destructive, specially with the use of force.

In other data, the Head of the Russian General Staff’s Main Directorate Vice-Admiral Igor Olegovich Kostyukov commented that USA is planning to start a military operation in Venezuela, after Trump treatened Venezuela and tried to isolate the country to Cuba. It raised also the same week that Erik Prince proposed to send Private Military Personal to Venezuela to start a Coup d'Etat.

The simulation of a direct conflict ignites the conspiracies about plans to murder Maduro and, or, raise a false flag operation in Venezuela, on murdering Guaidó and blame on Maduro, to justity an invasion.

DAY OF CALM IN VENEZUELA PRIOR TO EXPECTED NEW ROUND OF US-BACKED PROTESTS
https://southfront.org/day-of-calm-in-venezuela-prior-to-expected-new-round-of-us-backed-protests/

On May 2nd, calm appeared to have returned to Venezuela, with large protests expected throughout the country on May 3rd.

US Proclaimed Interim President Juan Guaido also calls for the people to peacefully mobilize on May 4th and call on the military to “join the Constitution.”
— Juan Guaidó (@jguaido) May 3, 2019

May 5th was already declared a “Vigil and Prayer” for the martyrs and freedom.

Guaido released a “presidential decree” strongly condemning the deaths of urubith Rausseo, Josnel Peralta, Samuel Enrique Mendez and Yoifre Jesús Hernández Vásquez during the “peaceful rebellion,” that the opposition undertook.

Despite little success following the coup attempt on April 30th and the protests on May 1st, Guaido claims that “Operacion Libertad” is in its final phase and that toppling Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is closer than ever.

Venezuelan journalist and social rights activist Fabiana Rosales accused the Venezuelan Armed Forces of “assassinating” a 15-year-old boy who was observing a protest in the Pan-American Highway, Sta Elena de Arenales-Merida. Guaido also shared the claim.

On May 2nd, Guaido’s political mentor – Leopoldo Lopez said that he expects the country’s military will step up to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro despite setbacks.

López spoke with reporters at the gate of the Spanish ambassador’s home in Caracas, where he’s seeking refuge. He broke house arrest this week to join the failed coup attempt.

He said he had spent the last five years surrounded by jail guards and security forces posted at his home, giving him insight into their perspective.

The Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) was ordered to arrest Lopez for violating his initial house arrest of 13 years, of which he has only served approximately five, to help carry out April 30th’s coup attempt of the Venezuelan government.

He further violated his original sentence by talking to the media on both April 30th and May 2nd.

The Caracas court is ordering Lopez to carry out the remainder of his sentence in the Ramo Verde National Military Center.

In response, Nicolas Maduro posted a video with military personnel chanting and celebrating.
El ódio y la mentira no podrán jamás romper con la disciplina y el patriotismo de los soldados del Libertador Simón Bolívar. Contamos con una #FANB cada vez más socialista, bolivariana y profundamente chavista. pic.twitter.com/okYherh8xP
— Nicolás Maduro (@NicolasMaduro) May 2, 2019
“Hatred and lying can never break with the discipline and patriotism of the soldiers of the Liberator Simón Bolívar. We have an #FANB increasingly socialist, Bolivarian and deeply Chavez.”
He further posted a photograph of him marching with soldiers, with Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez at his right side.
— Nicolás Maduro (@NicolasMaduro) May 2, 2019
“Today we begin the march for military loyalty to the homeland of Bolivar, a clear demonstration of the moral strength and integrity of our glorious #FANB, which remains in civic-military union, always prepared to defend peace and national sovereignty.”
US President Donald Trump said the “brutal repression” of the Venezuelan people must end, and it must end soon. He claimed that the Venezuelan people are starving and have no water.

US conduct towards Venezuela was called “surreal” by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on May 2nd.

Commenting on a phone call he had with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Lavrov said:
“Pompeo phoned, called for us to refuse to support Maduro, called for Cuba and us not to interfere in the internal affairs of Venezuela. The whole story sounds quite surreal. If you count up all that official representatives of the American administration say about Venezuela, then you can pose questions endlessly and to all these questions the answer will be, to put it diplomatically: it’s untrue,” he said.

U.S. HYBRID WAR ON VENEZUELA ENTERED HOT PHASE
https://southfront.org/u-s-hybrid-war-on-venezuela-entered-hot-phase/

The US hybrid war on Venezuela has now entered a hot phase.

On April 30, Juan Guaido, US-declared ‘Interim President’ of the country appeared in a video calling for a military uprising. Guaido, accompanied by heavily armed men, claimed that he had backing from the  military and  that the video was filmed at the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base in the capital, Caracas.

Opposition politician Leopoldo Lopez, who had been held under house arrest after “inciting violence” during the anti-government riots, appeared alongside Guaido. He claimed that he had been “released by the military”.

The US immediately declared its public support for the coup attempt at the highest level and once again threatened the country’s legitimate government with military action. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the actions of Guaido and his armed supporters a “quest for freedom and democracy”.

The US-backed coup attempt was branded “Operación Libertad” and received at least vocal support from leaders and officials of US Latin American allies. But something went wrong.

Despite the initial claims, Guaido supporters failed to establish control of the Francisco de Miranda Air Base. In the first half of the day, the main clashes between the rebels and the country’s National Guard took place on the highway alongside the military facility and in the Altamira area. Both sides used tear gas and in some cases even opened live fire.

There was at least one incident when an armored vehicle supposedly belonging to the National Guard loyal to the government rammed into a crowd injuring at least one. The incident took place after a group of rioters attacked a National Guard detachment.

Meanwhile, the country’s President Nicolas Maduro called on his supporters to mobilize. Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez reaffirmed that the Armed Forces reject the US-proclaimed president. Samuel Moncada, the ambassador to the UN, described the situation as an “attempt by foreign powers to spark a civil war.” The government characterised armed service members supporting Guaido as “a small group of traitors”, reinforced security measures across the capital and warned that the army would resort to force if necessary.

Measures were undertaken to take off air or limit access to local and international media outlets endorsing the coup.

By the evening, rioters and defectors had been expelled from the airbase’s gates, but clashes with the sporadic use of fire arms continued across the capital. Rioters, including armed ones, marched towards the Palacio de Miraflores, the official workplace of the real president, but lacked resources to storm it. Low-scale riots also took place in various provinces.

All this came amid speculations by US officials that “democracy” was about to achieve victory and Maduro was ready to flee the country to Russia. This did not happen. This round of the coup attempt failed because of the lack of support from the local population.

According to reports, the number of soldiers and security officers who defected to Guaido is around 80. Up to 100 people were injured as a result of the April 30 clashes in Caracas. Around 70 people were detained by the authorities.

Guaido announced a new round of protests to overthrow Maduro on May 1. It appears that Guaido and his supporters will be not able to seize power without direct foreign support. Such support may come in the form of an open or a silent US-led invasion under some formal pretext. Just recently, data leaked to the media that Erik Prince had pitched an idea to deploy some 5,000 mercenaries to support the coup against the Venezuelan government.
