New Cold War? Venezuela is the new Proxy
Fonts tell that Russia dropped military aircrafts and troops in Venezuela to promote national security.
The basid theoretics tell that is because Russia promotes socialist governments, but the close minded theorists cannot understand that the legitimacy of the autonomy is promoted by national security and protection of the government. Far from support Venezuela, understand that promotes a warfare is not the kind of regime that many countries support and the neo-PNAC or the American-Globalist agenda is promote a geopolitical influence and geo-strategic positioning of USA politics.
See that, Trump treatens each country that votes against his politics, promoting sanctions and possible military intervention when necessary in case of countries do not agree with USA politics. Where is the autonomy?
When there is a possibility of a military action in Venezuela by USA, USA puts itself in a geo-strategic position, in advantage of Russia, and also, but, interventioning in another country that has its own politics, not theirs.
Russia is now positioning itself in another geo-strategic offshore position, to cut a link between Brazil and USA and preserve the autonomy of each country.
It's not a socialist positioning, but it's a promotion of a unity of each country must have in the international scenario.
Maintaining the international anarchy, and not a world government, promoted by USA.
Now, the possible scenario is the geographic position of Venezuela being used as a power promotion or a power demonstrationg between two countries, as Syria is being done for a long time!

These powerful demonstration of a military operation shows a new arm races and it's beyond of arms control, where the new actors and proxies are interfered by business model operations and strategies, private actors used for tactical operations and black ops and opening of two and three direct fronts, with other actors as Turkey, China, North Korea and South America, with a direct clash between Russia and USA.
Both countries shows capability of opening more than two fronts and being capable to maintain them with possibility of victory in them all.

CARACAS, Venezuela — A Venezuelan official says Russian aircraft arrived in Caracas this weekend as part of ongoing military co-operation between the two allies.
The official said Sunday that Russian military officials are visiting to discuss equipment maintenance and training, and strategy. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.
Flightradar24, a flight-tracking site, showed the flight path Saturday of what it listed as a Russian air force plane, apparently headed to Caracas while flying across the Caribbean.
Javier Mayorca, a Venezuelan journalist, tweeted that a Russian cargo plane with military equipment also arrived in Caracas on Saturday.
The reports could not be independently confirmed.
Russia backs Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who has rejected demands from the United States and dozens of other countries that he resign.

According to local journalist Javier Mayorca, two Russian air force planes landed in Venezuela yesterday. The two planes reportedly contained “nearly 100” troops, a “Russian defense official,” and “35 tonnes of material.”
These Russian reinforcements come amid escalating tensions between Venezuelan and the United States. Though this initial batch of aid isn’t sufficient to tip the balance of power between the U.S. and Venezuela, it sends a signal to President Trump that invading would mean engaging in a proxy war with Russia.
This puts the U.S. between a rock and a hard place, as practically federal all elected officials from Speaker Pelosi to President Trump have recognized opposition leader Juan Guaidó as the Interim President of Venezuela.
The 5,000 troops John Bolton appeared to consider sending to Colombia would be no match for a 2 million strong volunteer militia of Chavistas decked out with Russia’s latest defense technology.
It’s clear that any attempt to invade Venezuela or depose Maduro would be the most disastrous military intervention by the U.S. since Vietnam, with immense casualties on both sides.
Hopefully those around Trump are able to explain why invading Venezuela would be a catastrophe — he made it clear where he stands when he asked intelligence officials why we’re not already at war because “they have all that oil and they’re right on our back door.”
However, when you consider the rocky beginning from which Trump’s bromance with Kim Jong-un blossomed, it’s not hard to imagine him pretending Juan Guaidó never existed and holding a summit with Maduro in Mexico a year from now.
For the sake of those in Venezuela whose lives hang in the balance of Trump’s decision, I hope that he and Maduro choose to put their differences aside, make nice, and forge a diplomatic path forward that includes easing of sanctions.
